Show Notes

Ahoora Baranian moved from Iran as a child after a family tragedy. His subsequent mental health issues steered him into therapy and informed his move into helping others via training to become a psychotherapist, currently running Saffron Walden High School’s pastoral hub.

Ahoora is now on a mission to create a ‘Quiet Room’ within this hub to give students a safe space to talk through their issues. He hopes this will be a blueprint to roll out across UK schools.

The Wellbeing project has collaborated with the school to help raise much-needed funds for this venture, and Ahoora talks about this in the first of 3 podcasts featuring teachers from the high school. He reflects on his own tough early life and brings his views to the forefront on what he terms ‘the future roots of society’ – our youth.

The fund-raiser was started by student Sam Spaxman, and  he kick-started the donations using his Jack Petchey award money from the high school. Let's get that room built!
